Eric Dier exclusive: Jose Mourinho made Tottenham more pragmatic and mature football news

In an exclusive interview, Eric Dier tells Sky Sports how Tottenham has more depth, maturity and pragmatism under Jose Mourinho.

Tottenham goes to Chelsea on Super Sunday, live on Sky Sports, in a battle between two of the Premier League’s top teams. Spurs have been unbeaten in eight games and have only conceded eight goals since their matchday one defeat by Everton.

Mourinho appears to have made his mark on that side at Tottenham and their win over Manchester City last weekend made many wonder whether he could lead them to a top division title since 1961.

When asked how Spurs have changed under Mourinho, a little over a year since replacing Mauricio Pochettino, Dier also noted that increased competition for places has seen Spurs’ players improve.

He told Sky Sports: “I would say this team is probably more pragmatic. I think we still have many of the qualities we had during that time [under Pochettino]I think we’re all a little older, a little more mature, we’ve all seen a little more and we’re ready to do different things than when you were younger.

When asked about his form, Dier joked: “It’s been a while! I feel very, very good. I’m happy to be playing where I am. I had a difficult time, mostly because of illness, but playing there where I want.” When I play regularly, I feel in a very good place.
