The Vaudois Council of State is relaxing the measures intended to fight against Covid. From midnight, it authorizes the practice of individual sports indoors, subject to sufficient space. In the cultural field, rehearsals in groups of a maximum of 30 people are permitted.

If theaters and concert halls are closed, it is essential that cultural professionals can, by observing strict health measures, continue to exercise their profession, the government wrote in a statement on Wednesday. These measures include wearing a mask and the space required depending on the activities.

For singing (choirs or soloists), rehearsals are only allowed if the protection plan is suitable. Organizers of professional rehearsals should keep a list of attendees.

Yoga, badminton or indoor horse

On the sport side, for those who cause travel and intense physical expenditure, the individual space must be permanently equivalent to 15 m2. On the other hand, this limit is lowered to 4 m2, when the practice is static and does not generate significant efforts.

It will therefore now be possible to play tennis, badminton or horseback riding indoors, in adapted halls or in closed merry-go-rounds. It will also be possible to participate in a face-to-face yoga or pilates class.

This relaxation allows sports coaches and sports teachers to resume their activities. The necessary infrastructures can therefore be opened, provided that the above-mentioned distances and spaces are respected.

Individual fitness

The fitness facilities can thus reopen for individual training. On the other hand, group lessons remain prohibited as long as they exceed five people, said Philippe Leuba, State Councilor in charge of the economy, at Keystone-ATS.

The implementing decree relating to measures intended to fight against Covid has been amended in this sense, the press release said.
