Even though he has beaten COVID-19, New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton admits he’s still feeling a bit flat.
“Since coming back from the coronavirus, to be honest my thought process has been a bit slow,” Newton told NFL.com Thursday.
The 31-year-old hub was 2-1 and racked up 714 passing yards before contracting the virus in week four of NFL activity. Upon returning to the game in Week 6, Newton struggled to find his rhythm.
“When I came back I felt late. The production is not to blame, it’s up to me to take responsibility and just be better. ”
After losing four straight games, the Patriots (4-5) have won their last two games. Newton scored four touchdowns, one passing and three running, in those games.
The New England side will try to build on their momentum against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
