Bob Myers hopes for a Tom Brady career path for Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry arrived relatively late in the NBA, after 3 NCAA seasons, which is now very rare for a superstar. He was 21 when he took his first steps in the big league and now he is approaching 33 years old, an age where you are starting to decline physically. But Bob Myers hopes to be able to count on its leader for many years to come.

“The plan is that we hope Curry can be like Tom Brady (quarterback still at the top level after his 40th birthday). We hope he can be there at 40, or whatever, swinging shots from midfield, still be effective and on special diet. ” Bob myers

Curry has maintained an excellent level of form so far and he’s doing a lot of work on his physique. His preparer Brandon Payne recently confided that he was in great shape.

“He looks young for his 32 years. He always gains strength, power, speed. These are things you rarely see in a 32 year old guy. He further refines his moves… All athletes do not evolve at the same speed. Him, not only is his dexterity constantly improving, but his body is always developing. It’s really rare for a 32 year old guy in the NBA. He still has a lot left under the hood. I’m not saying that because I’m his coach or his friend, I’m being honest. If you saw him physically right now, because we don’t post too much on Instagram for good reasons, you will see that he is even sharper than he has been in the past. He is bigger and he moves with a fluidity that we have never seen from him. It’s far too early to talk about the end of his career. ” Brandon Payne

Steve Kerr confirmed in early October:

I saw Steph a few weeks ago before the opening of the minicamp. Maybe I’m wrong, but it was two or three weeks before. He came to the gym and he worked a lot. He looks in amazing shape, but that doesn’t surprise me. I’ve never dated anyone who prepares better than Steph. He leaves nothing to chance. ” Steve Kerr

He has a game that should also keep him going, incredible shooter, among the best dribblers in history, a big basketball IQ and excellent vision. A player like Steve Nash was still performing well in the NBA as he approached his forties, then shooters like Reggie Miller and Ray Allen, were very effective until old age, like a Kyle Korver. Then Dell Curry played until 38 years old.

“I made the mistake of doing a HORSE with Dell Curry one day and I was humiliated. Shooters keep learning to shoot. I’ve never been a shooter and I’m not, so I can’t identify with myself. But it is a good thing. That’s a fact. Shooters age well. ” Myers (who played at UCLA)
