The Wallabies saved their pride by beating the All Blacks 24-22 in the fourth Bledisloe Cup Test in Brisbane after both sides finished the game with 14 players.
Wallabies debutante Lachie Swinton and All Blacks supporter Ofa Tu’ungafasi were both red-handed in a malicious first half, with the two teams suspended 8-8 during the break.
The lead changed hands in a pulsating second half before the Wallabies gave themselves a break in the 75th minute and Taniela Tupou tried.
Reece Hodge added the conversion for the Wallabies to take a 24-15 advantage, but the All Blacks responded with a remodeled attempt on Tupou Vaa’i to close the gap on two points.
However, the home team held on to claim victory, which is their first Tri-Nations tournament.
There’s more to come.
