The COVID-19 outbreak in South Australia has quarantined several Australian players, but the Adelaide Oval day-night test is currently in full swing.
The Adelaide North outbreak grew to 17 cases overnight as Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Tasmania imposed stricter border restrictions and many Australian cricketers landed in the drama.
With one month until the first ball in the Border Gavaskar series, the day-night encounter in Adelaide Oval is currently not threatened, as Cricket Australia has fully committed itself to the start of the test series in South Australia.

The bigger concerns are this month’s limited overs streak against India, Australia’s A games and the upcoming BBL season this summer.
The outbreak leaves a headache in CA which, if worsened, can lead to a migraine. Players will need to be moved across the country to ensure their availability becomes a potential requirement that depends on state borders being closed.
Players and support staff from the other five states returned home from South Australia last week after completing the fourth round of Sheffield Shield cricket.
As a result, Tasmania’s players, including test captain Tim Paine and middle-tier batsman Matthew Wade, are all self-isolating and were booked for COVID-19 testing on Monday, according to Cricinfo.
Paine won’t be needed by the national team until next month, but Wade’s first outing is the White Ball series against India, which begins November 27th.
Cameron Green – part of the test and limited overs team – and his teammates and support staff in Western Australia are currently self-isolated for 14 days. A period that began at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday.
Queensland players and staff could also be affected. The state government is asking anyone who has entered the state from South Australia since November 9 to undergo 14 days of testing and quarantine.
The players in Queensland include test opener Joe Burns, red and white ball star Marnus Labuschagne, and test team members Michael Neser and Mitchell Swepson.
New South Wales Prime Minister Gladys Berejiklian has voted against closing the borders with South Australia while Victoria has identified Adelaide as a hot spot but Prime Minister Daniel Andrews says the border will not be closed yet.
The Indian squad is currently quarantined next to the Australian IPL contingent in Sydney and training in Blacktown.
