ADELAIDE HAS TO FIT THE CROUCH OFFER – BUT DO THE SAINTS MAKE AN OFFER?
St. Kilda and Adelaide face a stalemate after it was revealed the AFL would not give the Crows compensation for the first band.
After the Saints filed for a deal for the restricted free agent Brad Crouch, the Crows had hoped the deal would be enough for the club to receive Pick 2 in compensation.
But those hopes were dashed, which could force Adelaide to the match.
Kane Cornes, a member of the Port Adelaide Hall of Fame, believed the Crows would just have to match up to ensure the club didn’t get away with compensation likely closer to pick 25.
“Adelaide must comply with Brad Crouch’s offer,” he said on AFL Trade Radio.
“You can’t talk hard at this time of year and then let him go … what a wimp you would be.”
While Essendon’s great Matthew Lloyd believed that it would turn dull with the Saints who likely don’t want to act against the Onballer.
“My husband from St. Kilda says Adelaide will not accept the offer for Brad Crouch,” he said.
St. Kilda currently has Pick 15 and would likely need to include that in a trade deal or Crouch could stay in Adelaide.
Crow’s foot boss Adam Kelly said AFL Trade Radio As of Wednesday morning, Adelaide was not fully aware of the details of St. Kilda’s offer to Crouch – and would not find out until the Saints file files with the AFL.
“We are obviously confident that the compensation will lead to Option 2 – and only in those circumstances would we consider making a trade and forcing or keeping Brad’s services on,” said Kelly AFL Trade Radio.
When asked if the club would accept the offer if they did not receive Pick 2 as compensation for the loss of Crouch, Kelly said, “We will certainly be looking for a better result than this compensation if it is not Pick 2 ( otherwise)) It would be the end of the first round or the beginning of the second round, which is practically the same due to our leadership position.
“That choice itself could prevail by the mid-20s after all the Next Generation Academy (bids) … We don’t see this as adequate compensation for a player of Brad’s caliber, so we would definitely try to match.”
GIANTS WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A BIG RETURN FOR STAR FREE AGENT
The Giants will make AFL history and be the first club to officially accept a rival team’s offer for a restricted free agent after the Cats officially filed filings for Cameron on Friday.
Foxfooty.com.au understands that the cats’ offer to Cameron is a five-year contract plus incentives worth approximately $ 900,000 per season. The deal also includes a sixth season gaming clause triggered when Cameron plays 14 games in his fifth year.
The offer, which is more than $ 4.5 million if you add incentives, is significantly more than the Giants’ offer to the 2019 Coleman medalist, which is worth roughly 3.5 million over a five-year period Had US dollars.
If the giants didn’t match the big ones, they would almost certainly get an equalizing selection for the first round, which would land after their natural opening selection. That would be pick 12 after their own compensation for the loss of Zac Williams to Carlton and Essendon’s compensation for the loss of Joe Daniher to Brisbane.
The cats might be forced to separate from a number of selections in the first round, with the Giants asking about Brandan Parfitt and Esava Ratugolea.
