Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley took top honors from The Match: Champions for Charity event on Friday in Arizona with a 4-3 victory over Peyton Manning and Stephen Curry.
Mickelson and Barkley were the underdog heading into this clash, which this time was aimed at raising money for the Historically Black Colleges and Universities charity.
Thanks to a good start and the sustained efforts of Mickelson, the only professional golfer in the group, the tandem finally won. Barkley delivered an honest performance, while Curry stood out in the opposing camp.
This was the third edition of the event, presented at the Stone Canyon Golf Club. Funds raised are used to donate millions of meals to families in need during the holiday season.
