Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brought Manchester United to new misery at Old Trafford when the Arsenal striker’s penalty kick scored a 1-0 win while Newcastle prevented Everton from taking the Premier League top with a 2-1 win on Sunday to return.
Aubameyang ended a five-game drought in the league when he converted a 69th-minute free kick after Paul Pogba fouled Hector Bellerin.
The Arsenal captain’s first league goal since the season’s opening weekend gave the Gunners their first league win at Old Trafford since 2006.

Donny van de Beek almost equalized late when Mohamed Elneny shot his cross against Arsenal keeper Bernd Leno and hit the post.
But United haven’t won any of their four home games this season. The three defeats included a humiliating 6-1 win over Tottenham.
It’s United’s worst start to a home division season since 1972/73, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in 15th place just six points above the relegation zone.
After an encouraging end to last season when they secured a Top 4 result, United have fallen and questions are being asked about Solskjaer’s ability to hold onto his job if results don’t improve soon.
Arsenal moved up to eighth place after losing two league losses.
Mikel Arteta’s men were deserved winners after dominating for a long time and hitting the post through Willian in the first half.
Bale saves spurs
Gareth Bale came to the rescue for Tottenham against Brighton, scoring a 73rd-minute goal just three minutes after his 2-1 win.
Bale rose to scoop a cross from left-back Sergio Reguilon after Tariq Lamptey’s first PL goal reached the level of Brighton.
It is Bale’s first goal for Tottenham in seven and a half years and his first since returning to the club this season.
Harry Kane opened the scoring in a controversial match. The Tottenham captain scored a penalty in the 12th minute and turned it into Adam Lallana on the edge of the box. The Brighton player jumped on a header.
Brighton struck back in the 56th minute and right-back Lamptey finished a wonderful move.
However, it looked like it would be blocked after the referee was instructed to check the side monitors for a foul by Solly March, who gave the go-ahead.
Referee Graham Potter then made history and became the first PL referee not to change his original decision after reviewing a side monitor.
EVERTON ROCKED
Everton would have gone beyond leaders Liverpool with a win at St. James’ Park because of the goal difference.
But when James Rodriguez and Richarlison were absent from the Everton team, Carlo Ancelotti’s side succumbed to limp defeat when Callum Wilson sacked his braces in the second half before Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s late response.
It was a difficult day for Everton, whose English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was dropped and lost his place to Robin Olsen after a turbulent start to the season.
Pickford has made a number of costly mistakes since Ancelotti took command last season. He was lucky enough not to be sent off for the challenge that saw Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk need knee surgery.
Newcastle took the lead in the 56th minute when Andre Gomes was cursed for fouling Wilson while attempting to clear a corner on the near post.
It looked like a tough decision, but Wilson stepped up to send Olsen the wrong way for his fifth goal of the season.
Wilson ended Everton in the 84th minute with a close-range shot from Ryan Fraser’s deflected cross.
Calvert-Lewin’s eleventh goal of the season came too late to stop Everton’s second consecutive loss.
They are without a win in three games and remain three points behind Liverpool in second place.
ASTON VILLA LOSES SEVEN TARGET THRILLER
Elsewhere on Sunday, James Ward-Prowse celebrated his 26th birthday with two beautiful free kicks in Southampton’s 4-3 win over Aston Villa.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team have lost their first two games this season but made an impressive return and are third after their fourth win in their last five games.
After a 3-0 loss to Leeds, Villa’s second straight loss served as a reality check after Dean Smith’s men won their first four league games.
Southampton paid off in the 20th minute when Jannik Vestergaard headed Ward-Prowse’s free kick.
Ward-Prowse shot a stunning free-kick past Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez from 25 yards in the 33rd minute and scored another majestic free-kick from the edge of the box at halftime.
Danny Ings scored Southampton’s fourth goal in the 58th minute and scored a superb shot in the top corner for his fifth club goal of the season.
Tyrone Mings cut the deficit in the 62nd minute and Ollie Watkins converted a penalty in the 90th minute after a foul on Grealish, who scored Villa’s third goal with the last kick.
