The ‘Laguna Invitational’ tennis is played, El Siglo de Torreón

With the aim of continuing in the sports development of young Mexican tennis players, the first edition of the “Laguna Invitational” tournament is being held, which has summoned 12 of the best players in the national ranking, to face each other on the Club’s courts. Rural Torreón.

Under a strict health protocol and avoiding conglomeration of people, this tournament is held in a kind of “bubble”, as was the “Las Moras Invitational” in Querétaro a couple of months ago, putting an end to the absence of competitions for tennis players 11-13 years old. Tennis players from Chihuahua, Tamaulipas, Querétaro, Guadalajara, Nuevo León, Chiapas, San Luis Potosí and the Lagunera region participate in the contest, who play in the Round Robin mode or “All against all” by groups, and then advance to the semifinals and the grand finale; Unlike the tournaments of the Mexican Tennis Federation, which are direct elimination, in the “Laguna Invitational” each participant is guaranteed a minimum of four matches.

The players who are participating in the first “Laguna Invitational” are: Macarena Sáinz, Gina Arteaga, Antonella Marín, La Laguna Isabella Gonzalez, Teporaca Reyes, Liliana Salas, Marianne Ángel, Marely Alvarado, Montserrat Marrón, Julia Braña, Julieta Álvarez and Ximena Gutiérrez.
