At the age of eleven, Timo started playing badminton at TV Jahn Zizenhausen. Playing with rackets and natural feather or plastic shuttlecocks, which are commonly referred to as shuttlecock, requires a high degree of agility, speed and feel for the ball from the players.
“Of course everyone has played badminton somehow, at least in their childhood or adolescence, be it in the garden or in the open-air pool,” explains Timo Wernet, who underlines that this leisure game, known as badminton for short, is only a minor part of the competitive sport of badminton resembles. How did today’s qualified value analyst get his favorite sport back then? “I did a trial training session in the badminton department of TV Jahn Zizenhausen during the summer vacation of 2000 and was immediately fascinated by this sport,” says the native of Stockach, who has since moved to Konstanz.
Timo Wernet was already able to celebrate great sporting successes in his youth. He was multiple vice-champion at the Baden-Württemberg championships in men’s doubles and regularly took part in the southeast German rankings and championships.
At this year’s athlete ceremony, which had to be canceled for known reasons, Timo and his twin partner Andreas Bühler would have been awarded the sports medal from the city of Stockach. These two took third place at the Baden-Württemberg Championship in Stockach. In addition to this success in a double competition, Timo also has some successes with his team, TV Jahn Zizenhausen. The team played in the Baden-Württemberg League from 2010 to 2018.
