Spectacle in Bayern group – later victory for Atletico Madrid

After the bitter clap against FC Bayern, Atletico Madrid were under pressure against FC Salzburg. Diego Simeone’s team was the clear favorite and also took the lead. After that, however, things got turbulent.

Atletico Madrid had a spectacular 3-2 win against FC Salzburg. The “Colchoneros” took the lead after 29 minutes through Llorente and held their own. But the cheeky Salzburgers weren’t afraid of the Spaniards. Shortly before and shortly after the break, coach Jesse Marsch’s team struck.

Dominik Szoboszlai (40th) and Mergim Berisha (47th) were successful for the Austrians, causing the US coach to explode on the sidelines. But Atletico stayed calm and quickly equalized. Joao Felix was the goalscorer in the 52nd minute. Shortly before the end, Madrid even clinched victory. Again it was Felix who put the ball in the Salzburg Gate (85th).

Next week, FC Bayern will face Salzburg, Atletico face Lok Moscow.

FC Liverpool – FC Midtjylland 2: 0

Liverpool won with some difficulty against Danish champions FC Midtjylland 2-0 (0-0) and lead Group D with six points after goals from Diogo Jota (55th) and Mohamed Salah (90th + 2 / penalty).

There could have been a bitter equalizer for Liverpool shortly before the end, but Midtjyllands Dreyer missed a great chance in the 90th minute.

Atalanta BC – Ajax Amsterdam 2:2

The other game in the Liverpool group ended in a draw. The guests from the Netherlands led 2-0 to the break. The goal scorers were Dusan Tadic (30th) and Lassina Traoré (38th). The Tadic goal was created after a penalty shot by DFB player Robin Gosens.

After the break, Atalantas Duvan Zapata made sure that Gosens can sleep peacefully at night. The Colombian was successful in the 54th and 60th minutes.

Olympique Marseille – Manchester City 0: 3

Pep Guardiola’s team prevailed confidently in Marseille. The “Skyblues” took the lead early on through Ferran Torres (18th). Marseille defended well for a long time and broke Manchester’s superiority after the break, but it was not enough for a goal.

In the last quarter of an hour, the guest made the clear victory through Ilkay Gündogan (76th) and Raheem Sterling (81st).

FC Porto – Olympiakos Piräus 2: 0

Under the direction of the German referee Daniel Siebert, FC Porto scored a well-deserved home win against Olympiacos. The Portuguese were able to cheer in the 11th minute when Fabio Vieira shot his team in the lead.

The redemption for the sure home win came shortly before the end. Sergio Oliveira let the fans present cheer in the 85th minute.
