Regattas launches its preseason

The Regatas Corrientes squad will officially begin the preseason today for what will be the 2020-2021 National Basketball League (LNB), which will begin in November in the province of Córdoba.

The only absence from the first appointment will be that of Omar Cantón, who arrived in Corrientes over the weekend, but must comply with the isolation period established by preventive measures for the coronavirus.

During the past week, the players who reside in Corrientes have already started the first work in the bodybuilding gym, but today the preparation will be with an almost complete squad.

The team led by Lucas Victoriano from Tucumán will work in the morning, in its facilities located in Miter Park and in different groups, according to the health protocols presented to prevent coronavirus infections.

The rowing team maintained the base they showed during last season (unfinished due to the pandemic), suffered two casualties (national players) and added some reinforcements.

Among those who remain from the previous campaign are Leandro Vildoza, Marco Giordano, Juan Pablo Corbalán, Juan Pablo Arengo, Paolo Quinteros, Martín Fernández and Tayavek Gallizzi.

Meanwhile, forward Patricio Tabarez (Peñarol de Mar del Plata) and Dominican Xavier Carreras (Estudiantes de Concordia) joined. All of them will be in the first practice today and only the pivot from Rosario Cantón (38 years old) will be missing, a brand new addition from Los Leones de Quilpué (Chile) and who will complete his second cycle in the entity.

The roster of players available for the coaching staff will be completed with the youth Juan Cruz Scacchi, Tobías Franchela, Joaquín Marcón, Fabio Gauto, Ignacio Marcó, Juan Cruz Ferreyra and Felipe Valsangiácomo.

Regarding the previous tournament, Fabián Ramírez Barrios (Quimsa) and Javier Saiz (San Martín) will not continue at the club. Nor are the foreigners Anthony Smith and Adonys Henriquez.

The National Basketball League (LNB) plans to start its tournament during the first days of November, with the realization of two “bubbles” in the cities of Córdoba (North Conference) and Villa Carlos Paz (South Conference).
