Manchester United won on the first matchday of the Champions League Group H. Facing Paris Saint-Germain, the Red Devils won 2-1.

At the Parc des Princes, Wednesday (21/10/2020) in the morning WIB, MU took the lead in the 24th minute through a penalty from Bruno Fernandes. Les Parisiens had a chance to reply in the 55th minute with an own goal from Anthony Martial, but Marcus Rashford secured United’s victory three minutes from time.

With this result, MU succeeded in bringing three points home to Manchester, while Neymar et al were still pointless.


The course of the match

PSG provided the first threat in the 12th minute. Angel Di Maria fired a shot from outside the penalty box that led to the right corner of the MU goal, but the ball was pushed over by David De Gea.

A minute later, Layvin Kurzawa’s crossing was successfully cheated by Layvin Kurzawa in front of the MU goal, but De Gea managed to make a brilliant save to secure the net from being broken.

Penalty for MU in the 20th minute! PSG defender, Abdou Diallo, fouled Anthony Martial from behind in the penalty box. Keylor Navas denied Bruno Fernandes’ shot to the right, but the referee asked for a repeat of the penalty as Navas stood over the line.

In the second attempt, Fernandes kept shooting in the same direction, but this time Navas moved the other way, GOAL! MU winning 1-0.

In the 38th minute, MU almost doubled the lead. Fernandes kicks off a right foot from outside the penalty area, but Navas manages to ward off the ball. Score 1-0 for MU lasted until the break.

In the second half, PSG pressed again. Mbappe almost equalized in the 48th minute, but his shot from inside the penalty area was saved by De Gea.

MU does not want to lose. Victor Lindelof had a chance in the 51st minute from a corner, but his shot was too weak and was easily secured by Navas.

Almost! Mbappe again threatened the MU goal in the 55th minute, but his shot on the left side of the penalty box still hit the post.

GOAL! PSG equalized! Still in the 55th minute, Neymar’s corner is blocked by Martial, but the ball goes into the net itself. De Gea was just stunned without being able to fight back.

In a draw position, MU tries to get back ahead. They put Paul Pogba in the 67th minute to sharpen attacks. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford made a long-range attempt in the 70th minute, but his right-footed shot was saved by Navas.

PSG threatened back in the 75th minute, this time through Moise Kean’s header after taking advantage of Alessandro Florenzi’s cross, but still strayed far from the goal. Rashford threatened PSG again in the 80th minute, but his shot was again blocked by Navas.

Neymar also didn’t want to be outdone by firing a long-range shot in the 83rd minute, but De Gea managed to block his shot.

GOAL! MU winning 2-1 in the 87th minute. Pogba carefully feeds the ball to Rashford on the right. The English attacker dribbled the ball then fired horizontally into the left corner of the PSG goal. Navas tries to block it, but fails.

In the remaining time, PSG tries to equalize. But until the game was over, the score 2-1 for MU remained unchanged.
