MAN UTD LIST SANCHO ALTERNATIVES
Manchester United have put together a list of alternative transfer targets for Jadon Sancho after negotiations with Borussia Dortmund stalled this week.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been out after signing the 20-year-old winger all summer but the club failed to meet Dortmund’s £ 108m (A $ 194m) valuation.
After a £ 91.3m (AUD 164m) offer was rejected on Monday, United looked at four other options: Ousmane Dembele, Edinson Cavani Ismaila Sarr and Luka Jovic.
Sky Sports report that United are negotiating a loan deal for Dembele with Barcelona, although a renewed offer for Sancho doesn’t get out of the equation.
Dembele joined Barcelona in 2017 for a record £ 95.75m (AUD 172m). He has won two La Liga titles and the Copa del Rey. Even so, he has only appeared 75 times for Barcelona due to injury setbacks.
The publication reports that Free Agent Cavani, Watfords Sarr and Real Madrid’s Jovic round out the list of alternatives.

KNOCK TIPS AT THE SHAQIRI EXIT
Xherdan Shaqiri appears to be one step closer to Liverpool’s exit door. Manager Jürgen Klopp confirmed that his absence from the Carabao Cup on Friday morning (AEST) was not due to injury or disciplinary reasons before pointing out that it was due to transfer negotiations.
Shaqiri should play a role in the 4-3 defeat by Arsenal due to the many rotations at the Carabao Cup games and the fact that he had performed well in the last round against Lincoln City.
Nevertheless, the Swiss winger was not in sight.
When asked why he was not selected, Klopp said: “I can and I don’t want to say anything about it. What I can say is that he is not hurt and not for disciplinary reasons.
“There is a time of the year when a manager receives information and I have to respond to it.”
