Manchester United’s 6-1 win against Tottenham has only led to speculation that the club could part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The five-goal loss was United’s worst in nine years and dampened the Red Devils’ proposals to fight for the title after Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
An unbeaten run of 14 games at the end of the Premier League season last year sparked renewed optimism which was quickly undone by a 3-2 win over Brighton, United’s only win of the new season.

It has now been reported that Mauricio Pochettino is back on Manchester United’s radar due to the worrying slump in form.
The daily star report that the touted move also has strong interest from Pochettino, who is keen to return to a top role.
While the Norwegian is expected to survive the current international break, nothing prevents United from exploring Pochettino.
The 48-year-old helped Tottenham in the 2019 Champions League final and was sacked just months later.
Solskjaer’s best hope is that a large number of signings will be exactly what the team needs to improve their poor form and especially their defensive problems.

Manchester United confirmed the signing of a one-year contract with free agent Edinson Cavani with the option of a second.
The 33-year-old has not played in seven months after being released by PSG.
“Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world. It is a real honor to be here. I’ve worked very hard in my free time and I’m excited to represent this incredible club, ”he said.
“I’ve played in front of some of football’s most passionate fans in my career and I know it will be the same in Manchester. Can’t wait to get the Old Trafford vibe when the fans can safely return. “
United also responded to their defensive struggles by signing Porto Brazilian left-back Alex Telles.
Telles signed a four-year contract with the option to extend it for another year. The decision came shortly after United’s 6-1 win.
“It is a great honor to join a club with the prestige of Manchester United. You have to work hard to get to this moment in your career and now I come to this club. I can promise that I will give everything in my heart to be successful here, ”Telles told United’s website.
“I won a lot of trophies at FC Porto and I want to continue that at United. The manager has a clear plan and direction for this team and I can’t wait to put on the famous jersey. “
