THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Justin Thomas brought in a 67 (under-5) card and kept his lead atop the Zozo Championship on Saturday.

Thomas, who trailed two shots on the back nine, played luck on the 16th hole when his ball hit a tree rather than falling into a stream. He scored a birdie to tie the lead and added another birdie to the 17th pennant.

Thomas has a cumulative score of minus-19 and he holds a one-shot lead over Jon Rahm.

Two hours earlier, Rahm had concluded his third round with a 63. The Spaniard knew he would be near the top spot, but he even grabbed it for a while.

Lando Griffin was at the top ahead of Thomas and Rahm, two of the top three players in the world, but he committed two bogeys on his last four holes. He slipped into third place, to minus-17.

Sebastian Munoz and Ryan Palmer both played 66 and both jumped 10 positions to share fourth place with Patrick Cantlay (68), three shots behind the leader.

Corey Conners signed a 68 card and is the tournament’s highest-ranked Canadian, tied for 20th. His compatriots Mackenzie Hughes (36th), Nick Taylor (48th) and Adam Hadwin (64th) also take part in the rounds of the weekend.
