Storm flyer Josh Addo-Carr is still looking for a new club for 2021 and the Bulldogs are reportedly favorites to get his signature.
The 25-year-old made no secret of his desire to return to Sydney to be closer to family. Another year before his contract with Melbourne, the club will only release him early if he can win another player to replace him.
The daily telegraph Buzz Rothfield reports the Bulldogs and new coach Trent Barrett are running a three-way race to sign Addo-Carr.

Preliminary final
The Rabbitohs and Tigers are the other two clubs interested, but South Sydney is already blessed with a good supply of full-backs and Rothfield believes Addo-Carr is not interested in seeing his former club, the Wests Tigers, again.
“I think he’s going to the Canterbury Bulldogs,” said Rothfield Big sports breakfast.
“Wayne Bennett is known for being wealthy for wingers and full-backs and I don’t think he’s interested in the Wests Tigers.”
If there should be a swap with the Bulldogs, Kiwi international Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is closest to the Callibre from outside the storm that the Bulldogs have to offer.

Nothing will happen, however, until after this weekend’s grand finale the NSW Origin star devotes all of his time and energy to playing his final game for the Storm on Sunday.
“I decided not to think about it until after the grand finale,” Addo-Carr told The Daily telegraph.
“My manager does all of this. He told me to focus on Footy and I only think about Sunday. “

Unhappy PANTHERS ON THE MOVE?
It was a few days roller coaster ride for the Panthers Center Brent Naden. The 24-year-old was thrown on the bench ahead of Saturday’s pre-finals and it has now been reported that the club have taken no steps to arrest him.
Rothfield reports that Naden, who no longer has a contract at the end of 2021 and will therefore be able to negotiate with rivals from November 1, had no interest with the Panthers for 2022 and beyond.
“It’s interesting, I spoke to his manager Allan Gainey last week. Naden is out of contract at the end of next season, which will enable him to speak to other clubs in a few weeks on November 1st, ”said Rothfield Big sports breakfast.
“Allan Gainey said Penrith hasn’t made any attempts, which is a bit of a surprise as most clubs have an initial chat to try to take them off the market before other clubs can make offers.”

Without a word from the Panthers, Rothfield believes Naden might be on his way out – but he might actually be picked up by Barrett, currently an assistant at Penrith, to take him to the Bulldogs.
He also says Matt Burton’s promising half is on Barrett’s radar. The 20-year-old has a lot of talent, but is behind Jarome Luai and Nathan Cleary.

“I wonder if he’s maybe a little bit out on his long-term future and Penrith has this brilliant young football team that they need to win for long-term contracts.
“You have Matt Burton in a similar situation, the excellent five-eighth from the bush who can’t get a football game. I just wonder if the panthers aren’t moving and locking these two up. Trent Barrett, as we know, is going to the Bulldogs next year and we all know the Bulldogs need more punch, more strength, more pace and sharpness, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Barrett finishes this weekend and if he’s going to a player as Brent Naden would think if he wasn’t wanted by the Panthers. “

After saying goodbye to the final last weekend, the Rabbitohs will now focus on the next season. Rothfield reports that the club is interested in taking over the injured center James Roberts.
The 27-year-old speedster had a tough season. He missed a handful of games after checking into a rehab facility, and after returning to the field he broke his chest and was sidelined for the rest of the year.
Roberts is out of contract at the end of 2021, but given the large chunk of the cap he’s picking up, Rothfield says the club wants to take him further.
“I think there will be a bit of player movement there. I think it’s common knowledge that James Roberts came out of Brisbane with about $ 600,000. It was a controversial signing, Wayne Bennett endorsed it, but it wasn’t purposeful, ”he said.
“He has a year left and I think the club are trying to move him.”
