Mourinho’s discontent after Bale’s arrival: he wants a promotion

Mourinho the position of head coach falls short at Tottenham. According to the English press, the Portuguese coach wants to be appointed as team manager and thus have more decision-making power regarding the movements of the staff. The signing of Bale by the Spurs could have been the final trigger for Mou to ask Daniel Levy for a higher position.

The coach spent much of the summer pressuring Tottenham to sign a new forward to accompany Harry Kane. However, what was found was that the club seemed to prioritize the return of Gareth Bale, a personal bet of the president. And it is not that Mourinho has any problem with the Welshman, but believes the team already had many talented players, like Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min, Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn, and he has little choice up front.

In addition, Mourinho takes into account that his predecessor on the bench, Mauricio Pochettino, was a manager during his last three years at the club and believes he deserves the same status. The Portuguese wants to have greater influence in sports matters, among other things, to sell Dele Alli, a player that the board wants to protect.
