Alex Rins was not disappointed that he failed to continue his victory at the 2020 Teruel MotoGP. Because Franco Morbidelli was so fast and difficult for the Suzuki rider to catch.

With the victory at MotoGp Aragon last week, Rins and Suzuki have a great desire to conquer the Motoland Aragon circuit again, at the 2020 Teruel MotoGP, Sunday (25/10/2020).

Rins, who started from third position, got the wind when Takaaki Nakagami, who held the farthest pole position at the start of the race. Rins immediately took second place trailing Franco Morbidelli.

Well, after that, Rins has faithfully followed Morbidelli, who looks comfortable in the front position. Rins kept trying to cut the distance, but his attempts always failed. On lap 13, Rins distanced himself from the pursuit of Johann Zarco.

Morbidelli then widened the distance to over 1.5 seconds from Rins in second place. Even though he was cut to 1.2 in the remaining three laps, Morbidelli was finally able to win the race and Rins had to bite his fingers.

Rins failed to get his second win this season which is useful for maintaining distance in the standings. Because his teammate Joan Mir was able to finish third so he was firm in top of the MotoGP riders’ standings with 137 points, a difference of 12 points from Rins in sixth position.

Indeed, Rins deserves to be disappointed by this defeat, but he manly admits that Morbidelli was indeed faster and more difficult to approach throughout 23 laps.

“Good race. Last week I was faster, but Morbidelli showed great ability. I can keep his distance with him at the start of the race, because he uses soft tires, but after that he was able to run,” said Rins as quoted by GPOne.

“Morbidelli is amazing, I couldn’t pass him at all because he was too fast. But, whatever it is, I am satisfied with the performance of my bike,” continued Alex Rins.
