City Football Group admits it has long wanted to invest in the French league

The City Football Group, owner of, for example, Manchester City, announced on Thursday the acquisition of a new club: the French 2nd division Espérance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne (ESTAC) is the group’s tenth emblem.

“CFG will become the new majority shareholder of ESTAC, having acquired the shares held by the previous owner, Daniel Masoni. French businessman Maxime Ray also acquired a minority stake in the club and will occupy a place in the board,” said the statement this Thursday.
