He then vowed to promise his mother that it would be his last fight after the recent death of his father and coach Abdulmanap.

UFC President Dana White was the first person after the event to reveal that Khabib broke her foot only 16 days before clashing with Gaethje.

Now the Russian has shared pictures on his Instagram page to show the real damage to his left foot.

Khabib, 32, posted a picture of an x-ray with a broken toe and another snapshot of his swollen foot on October 7 and 8, respectively.

White had said, “What this guy went through, we’re all lucky to see him fight tonight.

“And I hear rumors about other things I didn’t know about that you’ll hear about when he comes out later.

“Apparently he was in the hospital. He broke his foot. Three weeks ago.

“He’s one of the toughest people on the planet and he’s the # 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”

Khabib, who received a proud $ 8.4 million for the win, added to his ever-growing fan base with his decision to stifle Gaethje.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, who trained with him on a regular basis, said he used the triangular throttle that earned him the fight after deciding not to use an arm bar for not giving his opponent any in front of the American’s observing parents wanted to cause unnecessary pain.

Khabib then collapsed as he fell to his knees before pointing to the sky, apparently paying tribute to his late father, who had coached him since he was three, before announcing that he would be retiring.
