Joye Media SL must pay well for Mediapro

The LFP is in the process of organizing itself in the face of Mediapro’s refusal to honor its payment of € 172 million of October 5. In the emergency and in order to keep the clubs afloat, a general assembly must validate this Sunday a loan of 120 M € and the contribution of 50 M € directly injected into the equity of the league. At the same time, the French professional football institution seized the Paris Commercial Court last Friday in order to settle this dispute between it and the broadcaster, and force it to seek its financial guarantee from its majority shareholder, the company Joye Media SL.

This joint surety, The team was able to obtain it. It was signed in November 2018 by Jaume Roures and Taxto Benet, two of the managers of the box who therefore vouch, and Didier Quillot, the executive director general of the LFP. This six-page document written in English states that the reference shareholder must take charge of Mediapro’s € 780 million per season (€ 3.12 billion over the period 2020-2024) of Mediapro in the event of default. In the texts, Joye Media SL must therefore replace the broadcaster but it does not seem in a hurry to settle the bill.
