Historic agreement between Argentine basketball and Spanish soccer

A strategy in which both parties agree ”, added the Spaniard, who reported that, for his organization, this union is key in its internationalization policy.

Javier Tebas, The president of the League, who was unable to reach Argentina due to this pandemic, sent a video to highlight the importance of the alliance. “It is a strategic agreement that allows us to exchange experiences with the Argentine Confederation and then improve the management and our sports”, expressed the main manager.

“The Professional Football League is a pioneer in aspects such as digital strategies, applied technology and budget control and we want to go in the same direction”, was the way in which Borro summarized this agreement, which at least, in its beginnings, will seek to develop three points, without any economic exchange.

The first will have to do with the Financial Fair Play, a control program with rules to improve the financial health of clubs. “La Liga, with Tebas, made great progress in this regard. From having several bankrupt stock companies, it went into a very favorable context. We want it to be implemented here as soon as possible, beyond Free Debt, because we also want the investment to be not only in sports, but to continue advancing in communication, marketing and infrastructure ”, explained the head of the CABB.

The second point has to do with the audiovisual strategy based on OTT, an alternative form of TV that is already advancing in the world without the involvement of traditional operators. “The League has already made much progress in that sense, it has a developed streaming platform, and we will seek to have our OTT for Argentine basketball, with a more global vision, thinking of reaching other countries, as happens in Spain, where there are 500,000 compatriots and surely some of them wanting to see Argentine basketball. We must continue working in this regard and we understand that, if we succeed, we are going to put ourselves at the leadership of digital innovation in Argentina, always seeking to point out our great objective of massifying Argentine basketball “, Borro commented. Then, Tarradas gave details on the digital strategy that La Liga develops in the world, specifying the functions of the OTT, which the CABB will seek to take to strengthen its own.

The third issue to be promoted will have to do with a program that La Liga has to, based on different criteria, put together the match calendar (days and times) and that Argentine basketball could use in the future. “We use the algorithm in two moments of the season, first to schedule the days depending on the season of the year in which we are and, in a second, for the day to day, to establish the schedules of each game”, specified Tarradas. “It is one more way to make the competition more attractive and profitable.
