Millionaire kicks for minimum wage! Ex-Real star Robinho moves to the first club of his life, Santos FC in Brazil. He earns € 230 a month.

Brazil kicker Robinho played for Real Madrid, AC Milan and Manchester City. Now the 36-year-old is storming at a bargain price. Robinho signed a five-month contract with his home club Santos. “These are difficult times, you have to help where you can,” he justified his move.

Robinho will play with his first club until at least the end of February. According to “Marca”, he should only collect 1,500 reales per month. That corresponds to about 230 euros and is just above the minimum wage in Brazil.

Robinho had already earned enough money in previous years. Robinho moved from Santos to Real in 2005, where he played until 2008. He later spent two seasons with Manchester City and four with AC Milan. After China he was most recently employed in Istanbul with Master Basaksehir.

Robinho wants to help the traditional club, where legend Pelé and Neymar have played. Because FC Santos is in financial difficulties and is about to receive a transfer ban from Fifa for an indefinite period.
