CJ Cup: A new leader after 54 holes

American Russell Henley has offered himself a serious option for the CJ Cup title, played at the Shadow Creek club in Las Vegas, with a three-stroke lead at the end of the third round.

He handed in a card of 67 (-5) on Saturday, which allows him to sit at the top of the standings with a cumulative score of 201 (-15). The 31-year-old did not commit a bug and had five birdies. He will have a lot to do on the last day of competition, as four golfers will start the last 18 holes three strokes behind him.

This is the case of the one who finished the second round in the lead, the American Xander Sc Chaudele, who hit the white object 74 (+2) times. Three other Americans will be hunting with him, Jason Kokrak, Talor Gooch and Lanto Griffin.

The latter was particularly good in the third round, wedging five birdies and an eagle. He finally made a bug during the 18e and last hole.

Round point leader Tyrrell Hatton of England could be involved in the title race with a good last day. Indeed, he is six strokes behind Henley, just like the American Justin Thomas and the Australian Jason Day.

Adam Hadwin and Mackenzie Hughes were the two best representatives of the maple leaf, they who hit the ball on 69 (-3) occasions. The first shared the 33e rank with four other golfers, thanks to a cumulative of 213 (-3), while the second occupies the 51e place, with a cumulative 217 (+1), tied with five other participants, including Canadian Nick Taylor.

Finally, Corey Conners is two shots behind his two compatriots, tied in 58e position with five other golfers.
