Chelsea FC: Twice Werner, once Havertz and still no victory

TDespite the first Premier League goals by German national soccer players Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, Chelsea have missed a home win against Southampton FC. At 3: 3 (2: 1) on Saturday, coach Frank Lampard’s team only lost the win in stoppage time.

Werner had previously managed a double (43rd / 57th minute) against the team of his former trainer at RB Leipzig, Ralph Hasenhüttl. After Danny Ings (43rd) and Che Adams (57th) equalized the guests from Southampton in the meantime, Havertz (59th) shot the Blues back into the lead after preliminary work by Werner. But the former Gladbacher Jannik Vestergaard (90. + 2) equalized shortly before the final whistle.

Havertz cost 100 million euros

Chelsea showed great weaknesses in defense. In particular, the controversial goalkeeper Kepa, who played for the injured Eduard Mendy, again made serious mistakes and played a major role in the goals conceded.
