After 1: 3 against Bremen: Schalke coach Wagner before the end – BVB loses in Augsburg
Has his time at Schalke run out? After zero points and 1:11 goals from two games, many expect coach David Wagner to resign
After only two match days, Schalke coach David Wagner is facing the end. The Knappen lost 1: 3 against Bremen. Bayern rival BVB dropped feathers. Gladbach, Leipzig and Leverkusen also left points.
A week after the 0: 8 at Bayern, FC Schalke 04 also lost the crisis duel with Werder Bremen in the evening. In their own stadium, the Royal Blues were defeated by the North Germans 1: 3 (0: 2). Felix Uduokhai (40th) and ex-Schalke Daniel Caligiuri (54th) shocked BVB, who, despite their clear superiority and more possession and chances of scoring, did not get any hits and thus experienced a surprising setback on the second day of the game.
Schalke: Excitement over spitting attack by Kabak
Ruhrpott rival Schalke, on the other hand, has long been in a deep crisis. As in the previous week, the miners showed shockingly little resistance. Three days after the spectacular players’ strike, FSV Mainz 05 lost at home to newly promoted VfB Stuttgart 1: 4 (1: 1). The Mainz team took the lead through Robin Quaison (13th). But Silas Wamangituka (45th), Daniel Didavi (61st), Mateo Klimowicz (80th) and Sasa Kalajdzic (86th) turned the game in favor of the Swabians. Borussia Mönchengladbach disappointed in the first home game of the season and did not get beyond 1: 1 (0: 0) against 1. FC Union Berlin. The French striker Marcus Thuram shot Borussia 1-0 in his starting line-up comeback after a long injury break (56th). But Unions Nico Schlotterbeck (79th) met to equalize and missed Gladbach’s goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who was between the posts for the 200th time in the Bundesliga, the anniversary.
Newcomer Arminia Bielefeld celebrated a late 1-0 (0-0) win against 1. FC Köln in the first Bundesliga home game in eleven years. Joan Simun Edmundsson from the Faroe Islands (78th) the hosts for home success.
Bayern have an advantage without a game
