Badminton aces from Mülheim are busy collecting ranking points

The Mülheim badminton aces were successful in various ranking tournaments and were able to stage themselves with podium places.

The youngest talents were also at the start – and were happy about a podium.

Mülheim team players convince in the ranking

The women from Mülheim dominated the NRW O19 women’s double ranking. Lea-Lyn Stremlau (GW Mülheim) stood alongside Lena Seibert (Union Lüdinghausen) in the final against the 1st BVM duo Friederike Henze / Svea Marie Stempniak – and prevailed with 21:17, 22:20.

At the same tournament, Jonathan Rathke and Steffen Hohenberg took third place. Christopher Skrzeba and Patrick Schäfers won the men’s doubles B final against Pasquale Czeckay and Jann-Philipp Zocher.

First opponents then double colleagues

On the same day, Malik Bourakkadi drove to Hörstel in the Teutoburg Forest to collect ranking points in a double competition at association level together with Jarne Schlevoigt from 1. BV Mülheim. The evening before, the two of them had fought in the Mülheim regional league competition in the opposing team.

Now they played together – it went twice over three sets – up to the final of the tournament. There they met David Hennes and Arne Horning (both Spvgg Sterkrade-Nord). Bourakkadi / Schlevoigt clearly won the final in two sets (21:13, 21: 8). Lorena Vazquez from 1. BV Mülheim took third place alongside Mona Schmitz.

Marie Salzmann can shine at traditional tournaments

At the 11th Refrather Pänz Cup – a traditional and beginners tournament for the very youngest of badminton sports in the age groups U8 to U11 – Marie Salzmann from VfB Grün-Weiß Mülheim took second place in the U10.
