Arsenal XI against Rapid Vienna: Thomas Partey starts – current team news and line-up for the Europa League tonight

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey starts for the club for the first time tonight after traveling to Austria with the squad for the Europa League game against Rapid Vienna.

The Ghana international made his debut against Manchester City this weekend after falling off the bench and is now ready to play from the start.

“He responded very well, he came and looked strong and confident [against Man City] and he added something positive to the team, ”said manager Mikel Arteta.

“It’s been a very short turnaround for him since joining the team. He had a day, a day and a half just in training. He’s done a few more training sessions and seems ready to start. “

Arteta has vowed to take the Europa League seriously this season and wants to win it. The Spaniard’s squad selection should reflect this against Vienna and despite changes it should be a strong team playing in Austria.

Mohamed Elneny is expected to start in midfield with Dani Ceballos injured, while Reiss Nelson could get a rare chance to shine on the right. Eddie Nketiah or Alexandre Lacazette will lead the line.

Arsenal XI: Leno, Cedric, David Luiz, Gabriel, Kolasinac, Pepe, Elneny, Partey, Saka, Nketiah, Lacazette

Subs: Runarsson, Macey, Bellerin, Tierney, Aubameyang, Maitland-Niles, Mustafi, Nelson, Willock, Xhaka
