Angela Hänel follows in Kaiser’s footsteps

Langenberg (gl) – As part of the badminton department meeting of SV Grün-Weiß Langenberg, chairman Norbert Kaiser did not stand for election after more than 40 years of successful work. His deputy Angela Hänel takes over Kaiser’s duties.

The members also entrusted Adrian Kamin with the position of deputy chairman without a dissenting vote. At the same time he will work as a youth warden. Hänel had previously praised the “all-round carefree package” put together by Kaiser. The purchase of new badminton balls, team reports or booking the multi-purpose hall with the community – Kaiser always did all of this more than reliably. “We have always been happy to vote for you,” said Hänel and received a lot of applause. As a farewell, Kaiser received a gift package and a decorative metal player figure.

Norbert Kaiser wistfully remembered times when there was very high participation in training, when all the playing fields were occasionally occupied. At that time, up to three senior teams, two youth teams and one school team played in the championship. It was reminiscent of the former pub in the hall, where lost calories could be replaced with fries, an apple spritzer or a cool blonde.

In the 80s and early 90s there was a badminton friendship with BC Bergkamen with two-day tournaments in both places. The organization did – as expected – Norbert Kaiser. The long-time chairman thanked all companions from other departments of the club.

Currently, TV Langenberg has only reported one senior team, as many players are no longer available due to injury and age. The required two women from a group of four or five players take turns. With success, because after three wins, one draw and one defeat, the team is second in the table. The unchanged U19 mini team also started well and is third.

Kaiser underlined the importance of the training supervisors Angela Hänel and Adrian Kamin (Fridays) as well as Uli Bücker, Sven Bröckelmann and Dirk Altebäumer (Mondays). His thanks also went to the young people Tim Buckenthien, Sinah Bax and Stella Friese, who take care of corona hygiene protection and train younger players.

Interested people are welcome to train the seniors (from 18 years / Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.) and Fridays from 7.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the multi-purpose hall in Langenberg. The schoolchildren and young people prepare there on Mondays from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. The contact person is Angela Hänel, w 05242/408583.
