After promising patience, Washington Football Team coach decides to replace quarterback

Quarterback Kyle Allen will head the Washington Football Team against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday (11) at 2pm. The information was published firsthand by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. Coach Ron Rivera will also explain the replacement of Dwayne Haskins by Allen.

Haskins was widely criticized after being intercepted three times in the game against Cleveland Browns. Supported by Rivera, who decided to keep him as the team’s starting quarterback in the week 4 clash against the Baltimore Ravens, the player even had a regular performance, completing 32 of 45 passes, 314 yards and recording a running touchdown.

The end of Ron Rivera’s patience with Dwayne Haskins can be explained by the player’s bad stats for the season. Selected in the 15th position of the 2019 draft, the quarterback, who played in 11 matches of the team, appears in last place in ESPN’s QBR ranking, 26th in yards per attempted pass and 27th in the percentage of passes completed.

The other alternative for the position is veteran Alex Smith, who should be Kyle Allen’s immediate substitute, already against the Rams. Smith broke his right leg in November 2018 during the game against the Houston Texans. After undergoing 11 surgeries that originated the documentary Project that portrays the player’s struggle in his recovery process, shown by ESPN, Smith may finally be available to the Washington Football Team for a game.
