Adam Treloar, Trade Rumors, Kim Ravaillion, Collingwood

Adam Treloar has drawn a compelling line through rumors linking him to a Queensland promotion.

The Collingwood star’s future came into the spotlight after it was revealed that his partner Kim Ravaillion had signed a deal to move to Queensland.

Ravaillion is an Australian representative who last played for Super Netball’s Collingwood Magpies in 2019 before leaving for the couple’s first child, Georgie, this year.

She will continue her career with the Queensland Firebirds in 2021 and, as SEN reports, move to Brisbane with her daughter.

News of Ravaillion’s move sparked the rumor mill in action. AFL360 hosts’ Mark Robinson and Gerard Whateley believed Treloar would follow them north.

“We need to get to know Adam and know what kind of family man he is. We find it hard to imagine Adam living apart from his partner and baby, ”said Whateley.

“Hard to imagine? It’s not going to happen, Gerard. It’s not going to happen. It’s a big story,” said Robinson.

“Adam has spoken about his mental health struggles his entire life and thought he was never good enough to play AFL or achieve anything in life. He found a wonderful partner, they had a child together, it’s wonderful, and now Adam is going to let you play super netball in Brisbane?

“I’m sitting here tonight and I think Adam Treloar may have played his last game for Collingwood.”

“I think he will be with his family next year and when his family is in Queensland he will be playing his footy in Queensland,” added Whateley.

But on Tuesday night, Treloar was quick to put an end to rumors linking him to moving to Queensland, saying he never thought about leaving Collingwood.

Treloar wasn’t happy either that the rumors were focused on his gaming future instead of focusing on Ravaillion’s return to professional sport.

“First of all, I never thought about going anywhere, and I never would. I’m a contract player at Collingwood Football Club and there’s a reason I moved to Victoria to play for Collingwood, ”Treloar said at Fox Footy’s AFL360.

“The most disappointing thing in the past 24 hours for me and my family is that Kimmy couldn’t break the story on her own, which is really disappointing. The story should be about her and the way she could come back and get there. She needs to sign a contract to play her professional sport.

“She made a great sacrifice for us as a family to start our family in the middle of her prime. We chose a child and she sacrificed her body for it, giving up so much time and love for the game.

“The sacrifice for me is extremely small for me at 10 months. Realistically, Kim has probably had really good netball for two to three years and we want to move on with our family.

“I never thought of going anywhere.”

Treloar wasn’t a fan of how the rumor mill had gotten so out of hand and that the couple hadn’t made a quick decision.

“People talk to me like I’m a five-, six-, seven-year-old and I don’t know what I’m doing – obviously it wasn’t an overnight decision,” he said.

“… I have no doubt that there will be challenges and there will be times when I will miss them very much, but I am very excited for the challenges ahead.

“I’m so excited to have Georgie see her mom and dad playing professional sports.”

Treloar joined Collingwood ahead of the 2016 season after starting his AFL career with the GWS Giants.

The midfielder has become one of the best game breakers in the league and will once again play a key role in helping Collingwood attempt a deeper penetration into the final.
