You should know these running backs

The running back class in the 2020 NFL Draft is generally not considered spectacular. Few players stand out here – partly because they bring interesting stories with them. SPOX gives an overview of the backs that you should know.

D’Andre Swift – Georgia

The Georgia Bulldogs and their running backs have a great tradition and have enjoyed great popularity in drafts over the past few years. Swift could expand this range. In his freshman year 2017, Swift still played with the later high draft picks Sony Michel and Nick Chubb and, in a way, succeeded Todd Gurley.

Swift became an important part of his team early on and was instrumental in helping the Bulldogs win the SEC East three times in a row. Previously, he led his St. Joseph’s Prep (Philadelphia) high school to three state championships in four years.

Swift, who was already active on the track as a ten-year-old and had run both the 60 and 200 meters, is characterized primarily by his agility and very good speed – he ran the 40 yards in the Combine in 4.48 seconds.

He’s lively and gets past defenders so well, even if he doesn’t necessarily have the bulk to physically assert himself against any defender. In addition, injuries like the last one on his shoulder cost him playing time.
