MOTOR Plus-online.com – How dare it, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing racer Pol Espargaro wants to compare himself to Marc Marquez in person.

KTM has made huge leaps forward this MotoGP season, picking up two wins in the first five races.

Victory with Brad Binder in Brno, another with Miguel Oliveira at the Red Bull Ring, with the home race also accompanied by Pol Espargarò’s podium.

Part of the last RC16 evolution was given to Pol Espargaro, but starting next year he will change his livery and use the Honda RC213V.

Defending champion Honda, who won 12 of 19 races last season, was sidelined due to a double operation on his right humerus after a fall in Jerez.

According to Pol Espargarò, his next team-mates, Binder and Oliveira would hardly be ahead if Marc Marquez was around.

“I don’t want to be negative, I’m always positive. But the best rider on the grid is not here,” he explained at the end of the final race in Styria.

“I want to compare myself with the best.”

“He’s not here and I don’t know what he’s going to do, because Nakagami is pretty fast on the 2019 bike. Marc is usually faster than him. I don’t know,” he said.
