The Nottingham Forest boss plots more transfer deals as an “offer made” for the PSG youngster

Business transfer

Coach Sabri Lamouchi hopes to further strengthen his Nottingham Forest side ahead of their first league match of the season.

The Reds have already made six summer signings, bringing Jack Colback, Tyler Blackett, Lyle Taylor, Fouad Bachirou, Luke Freeman and Miguel Angel Guerrero.

But Lamouchi says recruiting won’t stop there – and hopes further relocation tasks can be completed in time for next Saturday’s trip to the QPR.

Cypriot defender Nicholas Ioannou has been closely linked to the Reds, with reports at home suggesting a deal has been agreed for the APOEL Nicosia full-back to move to the City Ground.

Last injury

Sabri Lamouchi admitted that some of his players weren’t “100 percent” as Nottingham Forest were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Barnsley.

Cauley Woodrow’s second-half effort sealed a 1-0 win for the Tykes in their first competitive match of the new season.

The rapid turnaround between last season and the 2020/21 campaign has made prep times shorter than normal, with visitors looking downright rusty in Oakwell.

Lamouchi gave five of his six new signings a run-out, with striker Miguel Angel Guerrero the only one not present.

Transfer speech

Nottingham Forest have made an offer to sign young PSG center-back Loic Mbe Soh The Parisian, after the talks to stay in Paris failed.

The 19-year-old will leave Parc des Princes this summer after negotiations to stay with the club until 2024 have failed.

And that piqued Forest’s interest, reports say, who has now made contact with PSG to find out how much a swoop will cost for Mbe Soh.

The Reds will be told that his capture requires an “extraction fee” due to the defender being a PSG academy graduate.

Opposition reaction

Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber believes his team’s win over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup was a well-deserved victory after winner Cauley Woodrow knocked the Reds out of the tournament.

The forest failed to find the net against the Tykes on a tough day at Oakwell as hopes for an early season Cup run deteriorate.

“I think the performance was good,” said Struber, despite knocking out Forest. “There are a lot of things I see that we need to improve, but it was a good first step and a good direction,” said Struber.
