In the middle of his service routine, Koepfer was startled by the noise that shook the people in the stands.

The German star stood on the baseline, staring uncertainly at Wawrinka for what he had just heard as both players looked on uncertainly.

Fears of a possible terrorist attack causing the explosion quickly rose in the city, but those fears were quickly cast aside.

Fortunately, the city was not affected by a terrorist attack. The noise was caused by none other than a military jet flying overhead and breaking the sound barrier.

The Paris police confirmed the cause of the noise and urged residents of the city not to clog the emergency lines.

“A very important sound was heard in Paris and in the Paris region. There’s no explosion, it’s about a fighter plane that has crossed the sound barrier. Do not overload the emergency lines! “They tweeted.

The explosion heard above us may have brought the game to a standstill, but it was news in the Roland Garros tunnels that rocked the Grand Slam when former world number 1 Serena Williams faced her competition withdrew in the second round.

Williams spoke to media members and said a persistent Achilles tendon injury that was not properly healed at the US Open caused them to pull the pin.

“I love to play in Paris. I love the sand, which I enjoy so much. I really wanted to try my best here, ”said Williams.

“It’s my Achilles who didn’t have enough time to heal properly after the Open. If I look long-term in this tournament I’ll be able to play enough games, so I don’t think I could.
