NFL – NFL: No preseason games this season

Munich (SID) – The NFL professional football league and the NFLPA players’ union have agreed to cancel the preseason games before the coming season. As the league announced on its website, the union informed the professionals on Tuesday evening. Originally, as in previous years, four preparation games were planned, but due to the corona crisis, a shortened preparation was recently up for discussion.

After several stars went on the offensive in the discussion about the security measures via social media, the league has come under pressure in recent days. In the first two weeks of the training camp, there will be daily corona tests with the professionals. The squad size in the preparation should also decrease from 90 to 80 players.

The NFL season is slated to open on September 10 (local time) with the encounter between Super Bowl winners Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans.
