Sports Interactive released the latest edition of Football Manager for free at the Epic Games Store; see how to get it in Brazil
The most complete and complex game in current football, Sports Interactive’s Football Manager, now has more than 20 editions and is a public and critical success. Officially launched on the Epic Games Store, it is free for those who want to download it for a week: you can purchase the game permanently and play it forever, as long as you download it until next Thursday (24).
It is the second time that FM is free this year: in March, the developer released it for a week on Steam. Now, however, this is not a trial period – it is a complete download. Football Manager 2020 is not available in Brazil through traditional channels, since the developer has not reached a licensing agreement with national clubs and, therefore, is not included in the Epic Games Store and Steam catalogs (game sales platforms) for Brazilian users since the 2017 edition, sold at the end of 2016.

But there is still a third way: access Steam or Epic Games using a Virtual Private Network (Virtual Private Network or VPN, in English) to then acquire the license and include the game in the catalog. And it is this alternative that presents itself to those who want to take advantage of the SI action in the coming days.
How to download FM 2020 in Brazil on Epic – step by step (until September 24, 2020)
- First, you will need access to a VPN service (see how to use a VPN), which will redirect your internet access to another country’s IP. These platforms are offered in both versions free (limited) and paid, depending on your need. VPN offers security to those who need to connect to the internet in this sense as well as access to content not available in Brazil, such as access to international Netflix catalogs, for example;
- A free alternative is HotSpotShield, which offers VPN connection with a data limit per day. You can even order the test for 7 days and purchase it permanently afterwards, if you wish. Install the service of your choice.
- Create an account at the Epic Games Store (if you have already made a purchase on the platform, you will also have to create a new account) and download the platform directly from the product website.
- Install the Epic Games Store on your PC. You can do the installation steps on the Epic Games Store website, but you will need to download the platform to start the game.
- Connect to the VPN through a territory where FM 2020 is sold: the United States is an option.
- With your connection reestablished, logue on the Epic Games Store using your new account.
- In the settings, change your country / region to the territory that you have connected to the VPN: the United States is an option.
- On the Epic Games Store homepage, scroll down until you find the “Free Games” tab. FM 2020 will be together with Stick It To The Man! and Watch Dogs 2. Click on the game page (or access the internet).
- A purchase window will open: confirm that you want to download the game for free (for R $ 0).
- From that moment on, the game will be in your library: you can exit Epic Games and turn off your VPN, if you are using a free option with data limitations. When you re-login to Epic, you can continue the installation without any problems.
