Ex-Liverpool player Steve Nicol has backed Everton to make it into the top 6 this season after beating Tottenham in London last weekend.

“If these three signings can all stay fit and healthy and play one season, they’ll have to look at number one in the top 10 because they’re outside of that,” Nicol told ESPN FC via In Futbol.

“And then after the battle for the top six. According to the evidence from the game at Tottenham, they are capable. No question about it.”

Everton’s next game against a traditional top 6 team is the Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park on October 17th.

On November 7th they meet Manchester United – also in Goodison.
