Dovizioso: Don’t blame Zarco

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Andrea Dovizioso don’t blame Johann Zarco after being hit by the Avintia Racing racer until he fell on the first lap MotoGP Catalunya 2020, Sunday (27/9).

Dovizioso was swept by Zarco until he fell in the corner of the first two laps of the Catalunya MotoGP. Zarco, who was trying to avoid Dovizioso’s teammate at Ducati, Danilo Petrucci, fell and hit Dovizioso.

Dovizioso admitted that he had spoken with Zarco after the 2020 Catalunya MotoGP race. The Italian racer was reluctant to blame Zarco.

“This is a difficult situation to accept. Especially if it happens in the first corner and you are not at fault. I made a good start and moved up a few positions, according to plan, but then it happened,” said Dovizioso. GP One.

“Things like this can happen, but there’s no point blaming someone. Zarco came and talked to me after the race, but we didn’t talk much about it. He made a mistake because he was scared and fell, but we didn’t argue,” said Dovizioso.

Interestingly, this is the second time in a row Dovizioso failed to finish in the Catalunya MotoGP at the start of the race. Last season Dovizioso failed to finish after being hit by Jorge Lorenzo on the second lap.

The failure to finish in the Catalunya MotoGP made Dovizioso shifted from the top of the 2020 MotoGP standings. The 34-year-old racer dropped to fourth place with 84 points, 24 points behind Fabio Quartararo.

Dovizioso admitted that the opportunity to win the 2020 MotoGP title is still wide open. However, the former Repsol Honda racer is a little pessimistic because the Desmosedici Ducati 2020 has been less competitive this season.

“The fact that anything can happen in the world championships this season makes me think positively, but the point is I have to perform fast, which I have rarely experienced so far,” said Dovizioso.

“The title race is getting tougher, because there are three riders above me who are faster and more consistent, but this is not an impossible mission. Quartararo and Yamaha are very strong, but I see Suzuki and Joan Mir as more competitive,” said Dovizioso.

Live streaming of the French MotoGP, 11 October, can be watched through CNNIndonesia.com. While the live broadcast of the race will be broadcast on Trans7.
