The Kansas City Chiefs peaked in the NFL last season, and head coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach would be rewarded.
According to Tom pelissero NFL Network’s AFC West team “finalize” six-year contracts for Reid and Veach after Super Bowl victory. Such agreements will keep them with the chefs throughout the 2025 campaign.
Kansas City has taken a number of steps to maintain its championship core this offseason.
he sign star quarterback Patrick Mahomes to a 10-year contract extension and sign tight Travis Kelce for a four-year contract as well. The Pro Bowlers tandem now know they will have stability as head coach and general manager for years to come, earning the quarterback’s seal of approval:
Reid, who coached the Philadelphia Eagles from 1999-2012, has been with the Chiefs since the start of the 2013 season.
He led the team to the playoffs for six of his seven years at the helm and ultimately won the first Lombardi Trophy in a career that included Coach of the Year 2002 and another Super Bowl appearance in the 2004 campaign.
Reid is 77-35 with the Chiefs and has yet to finish a single season with a losing record.
As for Veach, Kansas City appointed him general manager in July 2017. He was an assistant coach for Reid’s staff in Philadelphia and joined the Chiefs with the head coach in a scout role in 2013.
ESPN Adam teicher reported that the hometown of Veach, in Mount Carmel Township, Pennsylvania, gave its name to a two-block stretch of street after the Super Bowl victory.
