Arsenal friendly details as a closed door match kept shrouded in secrecy

Arsenal warmed up for the new Premier League season with a 4-3 win over QPR on Tuesday afternoon, in a game shrouded in secrecy.

The Gunners prevailed at London Colney in a closed-door match just three days after beating Liverpool on penalties to lift the Community Shield at Wembley.

The details were released by the championship squad as they revealed they took the lead with a stunning shot from Ossie Kakay.

Arsenal then took the 3-1 lead before Bright Osayi-Samuel scored and Todd Kane drew from long distance only for Arsenal who won late.

But Arsenal requested that the game not be available for streaming and did not advertise any details relating to the game.



Details were kept under wraps as Arsenal faced QPR behind closed doors

Young midfielder Miguel Azeez appears to have let slip his involvement in the game by posting a photo of his shirt on social media.

Twitter speculation claimed that Emile Smith Rowe scored and provided an assist with Tyreece John-Jules, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the other scorers.

But this news is not confirmed by Football.London which reveals that the Arsenal squad was made up of a mix of first team and Under 23 players.

Speaking after the game, QPR boss Mark Warburton said: “This has been a really worthwhile training session for both teams, and I would like to express my thanks to everyone at Arsenal for their hospitality.

“The player application was excellent and I was really happy with the way we moved the ball against world-class opponents, creating chances.

“Doing this type of test is useful for the players because it tests them physically and tactically.”
