Alexis Sanchez has revealed that he plans to leave Manchester United after a training session following his transfer from Arsenal in 2018.
The Chilean endured a nightmare spell at Old Trafford, despite the Red Devils paying him around £ 560,000 a week. He scored just five goals in 45 games before moving to Inter Milan on loan for the 2019-20 season, a move that made last summer permanent.
And the 31-year-old, who confirmed that a Manchester City move failed before joining United, revealed that he had asked to return to the former Arsenal club after just one day of training with Jose Mourinho.

In a shocking video on Instagram, Sanchez said: ‘I want to tell you about my time at United, about a lot of things that have been said that have made me look bad.
‘I had the opportunity to go to United and it seemed tempting. It was something nice for me, because I liked that club a lot as a kid.
‘I ended up signing up without much information about what was happening in the move. The first few days I’ve been with my colleagues, sometimes there are things you don’t realize until you arrive.
‘The first training I had I achieved a lot of things. at home and I said to my rep: “Can’t we terminate the contract to return to Arsenal?”

‘They start laughing and I told them that something was wrong with me. It had already been signed.
Sanchez recalled a moment at Manchester United when he was barred from the team of the day by Mourinho for a match against West Ham in September 2018.
It was an incredible fall from grace for the Chilean winger, who just nine months ago was one of the most dangerous attacking players in the English top flight at Arsenal.

‘To go from being one of the best in the Premier League to not playing in five months. I came to my house and I was very sad. The next day I trained in a double shift, because I love what I do. ‘
Manchester United lost the West Ham game 3-1 and Mourinho was sacked a few months later with the Red Devils languishing in mid-table. Sanchez then took the opportunity to talk to his successor, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, about a move.

Sanchez added: ‘Then the next coach came, the current one, and I decided to talk to him. I told him I had to take a break and the opportunity to go to Inter. He told me that yes, there were no problems.
The winger, who scored 80 goals in 166 games at Arsenal before moving to Old Trafford in an exchange with Henrikh Mhkitaryan in January 2018, admitted that comments made by some media angered him during his time at ‘Old Trafford.
He said: ‘The reporters talked without knowing it and it annoyed me, it hurt me. They talked about former players who had no idea what was going on inside the club and they gave their opinion hurting you, which was your fault.

Sanchez concluded the video by revealing that he wanted his time at Manchester United to work but has grown from the situation.
“I have only words of thanks to United for giving me the opportunity to defend the shirt,” Sanchez said. ‘It bothered me that things didn’t go the way I wanted.
‘If the atmosphere had been more positive, it would have been different. I say everything now because I have already had a period of learning as a player and as a person. I would have liked to have won it all.
