The 2020 NBA Draft has been postponed for a few months, but is still scheduled for October 16 for now.
When the first round begins, a SEC player – Anthony Edwards of Georgia – may be the first player to hear his name. And some others are expected to follow through on the first 30 picks.
This week, CBS Sports analyst Colin Ward-Henninger updated his Round 1 projections, and as you can see below, he thinks 5 stars from the SEC will go in the top 15 picks:
- No. 1 – Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia – Minnesota Timberwolves
- No. 9 – Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn – Washington Wizards
- No. 12 – Kira Lewis Jr., G, Alabama – Sacramento Kings
- No. 13 – Aaron Nesmith, F, Vanderbilt – New Orleans Pelicans
- No. 15 – Tyrese Maxey, G, Kentucky – Orlando Magic
Will any other SEC players be lifting the draft board in the coming weeks? We will find out on October 16th.
