Stephan Lerch, Wolfsburg: “We are the challengers in this match, if you look at the dominance and success of Lyon in recent years. But in a match everything is possible, we believe it, and the conditions are different than in the other times we have played against Lyon. Because we believe we can do it. The Champions is the biggest competition for European clubs, we made the final on special conditions but now we want everything. It would be something really great, a dream come true. “

Jean-Luc Vasseur, Lyon: “We will not relax, it is not the attitude we need. We will be masters of our destiny and we will be proactive. We will show a lot of respect for the opposition. We will not be caught off guard. We must use all our abilities to the maximum. that Amandine Henry is in shape. “

Expert view

Verónica Boquete, winner 2015 with Frankfurt
The traditional final, the two great European teams, the strongest of the last ten years. They have contrasting playing styles, different strengths. Lyon will try to dominate all football with their trademark, Wolfsburg for their part will close the spaces and wait to jump on the counterattack.

But the two teams have to improve, they have to offer better versions of what we’ve seen in these semi-finals, they have the potential to deliver better performances.

Annike Krahn, winner in 2009 with Duisburg
In Wolfsburg and Lyon we once again have two top teams in the final. I expect a very close match where once again the fine margins will make the difference. Both teams have a lot of experience and a lot of individual talent.

Lyon have one less day to prepare, so it could be seen as an advantage for Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg themselves will have to improve their game from the semi-final if they are to realize their dreams of winning the highs. I can not wait!

Women’s Champions League Final Trophy Ceremony

The trophy ceremony will take place after the final whistle on the pitch.

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin will present the trophy to the winning team and present the medals to the players and staff of both teams. The procedure of the trophy ceremony was aligned with the local authorities. All officials involved in the presentation of the trophy have undergone COVID-19 testing and will not be required to wear masks.

As previously announced in view of the finals of the UEFA club competitions played in Portugal (UEFA Champions League), Germany (UEFA Europa League) and Spain (UEFA Women’s Champions League), the top management of UEFA and the operational staff in contact with the players and the staff of the participating club were regularly tested during the tournament.
