Who will win the last wide receiver?

The Panthers have had an unprecedented overhaul of offensive coaches this offseason, hiring a new head coach, offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. With new coaches come new patterns, and Joe Brady has already expressed his desire to use multiple sets of receivers in Carolina.
The squad currently has six receivers, but their places are guaranteed this year: DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, Curtis Samuel, Keith Kirkwood, Seth Roberts and Pharoh Cooper. Some should also contribute in special teams, thus strengthening their role. But multiple sets of receivers means keeping more than the traditional six receivers, and the Panthers have a few dark horses that linger at the bottom of the depth map.
Now, as training camp begins, the battle for last place escalates. Here are the players competing for the final receiving spot on the team.

DeAndrew White

White (six foot, 185 pounds) enters the competition with a few obvious advantages over some of the other options. After being unselected in the 2015 NFL Draft, White floated around several teams before finally gaining playing time on the Panthers roster last season. In his four preseason games in 2019, the third-year wide receiver recorded six catches for 122 yards, including that 54-yard reception from quarterback Will Grier. Not only does White have the benefit of three years of actual NFL experience, but he’s also the only one with experience as a slot receiver, which is important for multiple sets of receivers. He also has the ability to go back.
