It is the question many ask: “Could Lionel Messi do it on a cold night in Stoke?”
Well, former Potter manager Tony Pulis has no doubts.
He said of the Barcelona star: “People are now wondering how Lionel Messi might fare if he were to play at Stoke on a wet and windy Tuesday night. Or some of the slightly less glamorous Premier League grounds if he signs up for Manchester City.
“I think it would be great. He is blessed with extraordinary skill, of course. I always remember sitting with my son, Anthony, at Arsenal one night and watching Barcelona during their warm-up.
“Messi threw this ball for miles in the air and then killed it with his foot when it came back down. Anthony and I looked at each other. Normal human beings are unable to do this.
“But people forget how robust Messi is. He is tough, strong, he tracks for his team when needed, and no matter what the situation is he will create opportunities for himself or his teammates. “
