‘Thomas Partey at Arsenal confirmed’ – Fans go crazy when the Atletico ace took the bench for the clash with Leipzig

All eyes of Arsenal tonight will be on the Champions League clash between RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid.

Not just one, but two potential transfer goals are Ionic action in the Champions League quarter-finals.

For the Germans, Dayot Upamecano long-term defensive goal and for the Spanish midfielder Thomas Partey.

Partey has emerged this summer as one of manager Mikel Arteta’s top transfer priorities, but the Gunners will need to raise money to sign him by dumping some players.

Partey is priced at £ 43m on his back, with Atletico Madrid reluctant to change that assessment.

The coronavirus pandemic has hit Arsenal hard, with the club sacking 55 staff members in recent weeks.

With question marks about the future of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi, Arteta is in the market for reinforcements in midfield, but the Ghanaian has other suitors, with Juventus making a move for him too.

But anyone wishing to get a glimpse of Partey will have to wait after being named to the substitutes’ bench for the Champions League challenge, and that in itself has led to a lot of chatter from fans on Twitter.

The overall gist was the theory that Partey had been knocked out for the biggest match of the season meant he was on his way to the Emirates this summer.

However, the Ghanaian was injured and it is more than likely that he was held by Simeone for a shorter time on the pitch.
