The Manchester United youngster is in line for his international debut

Manchester United youngster Dylan Levitt is in line to make his senior international debut for Wales this week.

The 19-year-old was named to Ryan Giggs’ squad for the Nations League double match in early September and has a good chance of making his first appearance after a string of retirements.

United midfielder Levitt played regularly in the senior lineup under Giggs but has yet to take the field internationally.

However, it looks like it could change in the next few days after a flurry of injuries saw Levitt shoot hierarchically in the Wales set-up.

Midfield duo Aaron Ramsey and David Brooks have been named alongside Ashley Williams and Tyler Roberts in an absentee list announced by the Welsh Football Association on Sunday evening.

As a result, Liverpool forward Ben Woodburn and teenage Nottingham Forest midfielder Brennan Johnson were added to the squad, while fan favorite Joe Allen was absent from injury from the initial call-up list.

It means Levitt is one of only six midfielders available for Wales when he faces Finland this Thursday before facing Bulgaria in Nations League matches on Sunday.

The teenager faces competition from a group of relatively inexperienced players in his position with Jonny Williams, Matthew Smith, Will Vaulks, Joe Morrell, Ethan Ampadu and Johnson, the team’s other midfield options.

MEN Sport understands that Levitt has received a number of offers for a loan transfer this summer with a move to the Championship or League One most likely, although it does not rule out the possibility of a transfer abroad.

The Wales international had some interest from the Netherlands last January, but it was decided that he should stay with United for the remainder of the season.

Levitt played the entire match for United U23 over the weekend, drawing 3-3 with Huddersfield Town in a pre-season friendly at Kirklees Stadium.
